Kulpmont – Ronald E. "Chick" Trefsger, 91, of 1200 Poplar Street, passed away on October 9, 2024, at his residence.

He was born in Ashland on September 20, 1933, to the late Edward W. and Helen (Miller) Trefsger.

Ronald graduated from Mount Carmel Catholic High School in 1951. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1955. He later worked as a clerk for General Motors in Bensalem, PA.

On May 26, 1962, he married Joanne M. Smith at the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. They enjoyed 47 years of marriage until her passing in 2009.

Ronald was a dedicated member of the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. He was also involved with the Mount Carmel VFW, Kulpmont Legion, and Mount Carmel Sportsmen's Club. He loved hunting, fishing, and watching Mount Carmel football.

Ronald is survived by his daughter, Dawn DeCrow and her husband, Kelley of Oakland, TN; one son, Ronald Trefsger and his wife, Debra of Levittown: three grandchildren, Ronald, Zachary, and Rachel; a brother, Edward Trefsger and his wife, Helen of Belleville, NJ; his companion, Dot Hook of Mount Carmel; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Trefsger.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Father Francis Karwacki officiating in the Church of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Viewing will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. with transferal prayers at 10 a.m. in the C J Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N.
