Atlas - Ronald Francis Scicchitano, 73 of 406 West Saylor Street, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

Born in Atlas on April 21, 1944, he was the son of the late Marshall and Caroline (Morgan) Scicchitano and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School.

On July 24, 1965 in St. Mary's Church he married the late Marianne "Cookie" Mannello who preceded him in death on May 1, 2002.

He owned and operated Ronnie Scicchitano's Beauty Shoppe and was also a florist.

He was a former member of St. Paul's Chapel in Atlas and currently a member of Divine Redeemer Church. he was a member of the choir at both churches and was a founding member of the Anthracite Citizen's Theatre (ACT) as well as an active participant.  He was active in coordinating Mount Carmel High School activities and events.

Survivors include a son, Aaron Jude Scicchitano and his wife Natalia Scicchitano of FL and a daughter, Caprice Ann Rudock and her husband Kenny Rudock, also of FL; three granddaughters, Ashley Rose, Morgan Taylor and Ava Grace; two brothers, Marshall Scicchitano and his wife Maureen of Kulpmont and Dennis Scicchitano and his wife Margie of Locust Gap; one sister, Diane Adzema of Mount Carmel; a sister-in-law Jackie Dixon and her husband Bobby of Atlas; a brother-in-law, Anthony Mannello of FL; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Eddie Adzema.

Ronald Francis Scicchitano, 73, of 406 West Saylor Street, Atlas - Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 10:30 am in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Avenue, Mount Carmel with Reverend Martin O. Moran III, officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont.  Viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 and Wednesday morning from 9:00 - 10:15 with transferal prayers at 9:30 in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, Supervisor.
