Mount Carmel - Rose M. Bird Antico, 81, of 633 East Seventh Street, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

Born in Washington, DC on December 23, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Midian and Ruth (Haislipp) Joseph. She was educated in Washington DC Catholic School graduating in 1951.

Rose was a resident of the area for 45 years having lived in both Shamokin as well as Mount Carmel. She was employed as a packer for Kraft Corporation, having retired in 1997.

She was first married to Daniel C. Bird, who preceded her in death in January, 1977; in December, 1979 in Mount Carmel she married Joseph G. Antico, who survives.

She was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, where she was a choir member, she also was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary of Mount Carmel.

In addition to her husband Joseph she is survived by a son, Daniel Bird Jr. and his wife Barbara of Fredericksburg, VA; a daughter, Diana Bird of Mount Carmel; a step-son, Joseph Antico and his wife Kathy of Elysburg; three grandchildren, Barry Williams Jr. Daniel C. Bird III and Danielle Bird-Dudley; two step-grandchildren, Danielle Nevel and her husband Brian and Lauren Springman and her husband John; two great grandchildren, Trinity and Braydon Dudley; three step great grandchildren; three sisters, Louise Varellie of MD; Mary Jenkins of MD; and Margie Pazdernick of MI; a brother, Robert Joseph and his wife Serena of VA; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and her first husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Anthony Joseph and his wife Daisey, Raymond Joseph, William Joseph and his wife Marian and Paul Joseph and his wife Sonia; a sister, Ruth Ling and three brothers-in-law, Frank Varellie, George Pazdernick and James Jenkins.

Bird Antico, 81 of 633 East Seventh Street, Mount Carmel - Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 10:30 am in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Avenue, Mount Carmel with Reverend Martin O. Moran III, officiating. Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington. Viewing will be held Wednesday morning from 9:00 - 10:15 with transferal prayers at 9:30 in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, Supervisor.
