Kulpmont – Rose J. Lanciano, 90, formerly of 555 Chestnut St. passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

She was born in Atlas on July 31, 1930, the daughter of the late Antonio and Dora (Callabrese) Rossi. She was the last of the nine Rossi children to go to heaven. She was married in 1954 for 46 years to the late Joseph J. Lanciano who passed away in 2000 and they had three children, Joe, Jimmy, and Lisa.

Rose was an honors graduate of Mount Carmel Township High School where she was a cheerleader. She was also an active member of Holy Angels Church for many years. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends very deeply. She enjoyed good food, cooking, reading, travel, fashion, and Mount Carmel/Penn State football. But her favorite thing to do was to play pinochle every Sunday with her sisters and brothers and going to Rossi family reunions which have been going on now every year for over 65 years, except for this year. She had various jobs during her life including waitress at Pine Burr, administrative assistant, and right after high school, telephone operator for Ma Bell in New York City.

Rose is survived by two sons, Joseph Lanciano and wife, Kathy of Crofton, MD and James Lanciano and wife, Norma of Lewistown; a daughter, Lisa Lanciano of Danville; a grandson, Eric Lanciano and wife, Chelsea; three granddaughters, Nicole Lanciano, Marisa Lawson, and Kristy Maturani; three great granddaughters, Paige Lanciano, Brie Lanciano and Natalia Lawson; a great grandson, Drew Lanciano; a brother-in-law, Robert Kaminsky; two sisters-in-law, Carol Rossi and Stella Rossi; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Rose was preceded in death by four brothers, Carmen Rossi, Vincent Rossi, and Fred Rossi and wife, Sandy and yesterday Daniel Rossi; and four sisters, Jenny Dallazia and husband, Robert, Constance Kulick and husband, Robert; Carmella Saukaitis and husband, Joseph; and Mary Kaminsky.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Rose J. Lanciano, 90, of Kulpmont – A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Divine Redeemer Church, 300 W. Ave., Mt. Carmel with Father Ryan Fischer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. There will be no viewing. Arrangements are in care of C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mt. Carmel, PA with C. J.
