Rose M. (Peters) Maschal, 94, formerly of Marion Heights, passed away on January 1, 2026, at Sunbury Skilled Nursing and Rehab.

She was born at home in Marion Heights on October 20, 1931, to George and Anna (Stello) Peters.

Rose attended St. Mary's Roman Catholic Grade School and was a graduate of Kulpmont High School, Class of 1949. She worked as a seamstress for the Len Jeff Garment Factory.

On May 3, 1958, she married Lee Maschal in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Marion Heights. Together they shared 47 years of marriage until his passing in 2005.

Rose was an avid reader and always had a novel within easy reach. She enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles. She also enjoyed baking for holidays and special events.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Lea (Roger) Hilscher, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by five brothers, Samuel, Anthony, Frank, Ralph, and George Peters; and four sisters, Josephine Rainal, Florence Lagaz, Barbara Peters, and Thelma Peters.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2025, at noon with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg.
