Kulpmont - Rose Marie (Bozza) Witrosky - It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Rose, who peacefully went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.

Rose was born in Kulpmont on Wednesday, October 12 ^th , 1921, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Ricci) Bozza. She had the privilege of celebrating her 100 ^th birthday.

Rose was a lifelong resident of Kulpmont. On November 6, 1941 she married Joseph R. Witrosky, of Shamokin. They were married at the Cathedral of the Assumption in Baltimore, MD.  Rose and Joe "Witt" were blessed with a wonderful life together, as they were married for 61 years.  Joe preceded Rose in death in 2003. They had 2 children, son Richard, and daughter, Janice.

Rose was a graduate of Kulpmont High School in 1941. She was a member of Holy Angels Church, formerly St. Mary's, in Kulpmont. She held 16 years of office in both churches – Council of Catholic Women, Associate member of Felician Order, Auxiliary member of Legion of Mary, Golden Angels, Choir member for 37 years, and Rosary Altar Society. She was a devoted Catholic, faithful to her church. She loved to serve in any way she could, always honoring God in everything she did. Rose enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and traveling. She loved playing the piano and keyboard, and was quite talented, though never having had a formal lesson on how to play.

She was also a member of the St. Pauline Center, Healing Heart of Jesus, American Legion Auxiliary, International Ladies Garment Workers Union, and Vice Chairperson of the Democratic Party in the 1960's. She worked at Len Jef and Lady Hope.

Rose was 1 of 12 children. Her sisters and brothers all preceded her in death. Six sisters, Jennie Pauldine, Christina Metro, Helen Berger, Ida Downey, Lena Larwa, and Dorothy McKnew; five brothers, Edward Bozza, Joseph Bozza, Nicholas Bozza, Alfred Bozza, and infant boy Bozza.

She is survived by her son, Richard Witrosky and wife, Ruth; daughter, Janice Witrosky; five grandchildren, Albert, Lori, Richard, Jennifer, and Gwen, and spouses; twenty-one great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and special nephew, Stanley Metro, whom she loved as a son; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She prayed daily for each and every one by name, and spent hours in prayer for those she loved. Rose was a remarkable woman. If she knew you, she prayed for you. She touched many lives with her kindness and compassion. We were all so blessed to have known her.

Rose Marie (Bozza) Witrosky, 100, of Kulpmont - There will be a Mass on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Church, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont, with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating.
