Kulpmont - Rose (Dunick)  Zubal, 90, of 1038 Pine Street, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Marion Heights on January 3, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Metro and Anna (Hardish) Dunick. She was a 1946 graduate of Kulpmont High School.

Rose was employed at KanMak Mills from 1946-1949, she then worked as a secretary for the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, MD from 1950-1965, she then became a stay at home mom preparing her children for life.

She was married in 1951 in Baltimore, MD to the late Andrew Zubal.

Rose was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, formerly a member of St. Casmir's Church. She was a devout catholic, her faith guided her life.

She enjoyed reading the newspaper, crossword puzzles, opera, and casinos; was an avid Steelers, Pirates and Phillies fan. She enjoyed pizza and eating in restaurants. She also enjoyed the holidays by decorating the whole house. She told her sons, "If a man can prove he is better than me, I will walk behind him"

Survivors include two sons, Andrew Zubal of Pittsburgh and Michael Zubal of Kulpmont; three brothers, Walter Dunick and his wife Rose Mary of Coal Run; Michael Dunick of Loraine, OH and Joseph Dunick of Kulpmont; three sisters, Helen Ondish of Baltimore, MD; Barbara Ketterer of Drums and Joanne Whalen of Minersville as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and Paul Dunick, two sisters, Mary Guthrie and her husband Jon and Anna Dunick, three brothers-in-law, Leonard Ondish, John Whalen and Robert Ketterer and one sister-in-law Joan Dunick.

Rose Zubal, 90, of 1038 Pine Street, Kulpmont - Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott Street, Kulpmont with Father Andrew Stahmer, officiating. Burial will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Marion Heights. Viewing will be held Thursday morning from 9:00 - 10:45 with Transferal Prayers at 10:00 in the C.J.
