Kulpmont - Sandra Wojcik Ditchey, 57, of Kulpmont, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024.

Sandy was born in Shamokin on November 16, 1966, a loving and devoted daughter of Edward and Mary Ann (Nestico) Wojcik.  She was a lifelong resident of Kulpmont and Mount Carmel.

Sandy was a 1984 graduate of Mount Carmel Area High School and attended the McCann School of Business in Mahanoy City.  She was employed by Varano Insurance Agency in Mount Carmel.

Sandy married Thomas Ditchey on October 19, 2002.  She was a devout member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Sandy excelled at cooking and baking, often hosting holiday meals for her family.  Sandy also maintained an impeccable house, taking pride in elaborately decorating for all seasons and holidays.  She also enjoyed shopping – especially for others.  Meticulously organized and efficient, Sandy successfully managed many personal and social obligations for herself and family members.  She always put others before herself.  Sandy displayed deep compassion for others, often taking care of others' needs before her own.  Family was extremely important to Sandy, and she selflessly dedicated herself to caring for them.  Sandy was a proud, fun, and generous aunt and Godmother to her niece, Marisa, whom she adored from the day she was born.

In addition to her parents, Edward and Mary Ann, Sandy is survived by her husband, Tom; her sister, Lisa (Wojcik) and brother-in-law Mark Balanda of Hershey, and her niece, Marisa.  She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Robert (Bob) and Kathy Ditchey; sister-in-law, Rosemarie ("Tootsie"), wife of the late William (Bill) Ditchey; and sister-in-law, Susan Ditchey.  She is also survived by aunts, uncles, and many cousins, in addition to nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 15, at 11 a.m. with Father Francis Karwacki officiating in the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Visitation will be held on Friday morning in the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
