Kulpmont – Susan J. (Weitzel) Wywadis, 78, of 520 Pine Street, passed away on September 9, 2025, at Mt. Carmel Senior Living Community.

She was born in Shamokin on October 13, 1946, the daughter of the late Henry and Mirian (McAndrew) Weitzel.

Susan was a graduate of Shamokin Area High School, Class of 1964. She worked as a manager of a greenhouse in Paxinos.

She married Walter Wywadis in St. Edward's Church, Shamokin.

Susan was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont.

Susan is survived by two sons, Steven Wywadis of Kulpmont and Mark (Diane) Wywadis of Jonestown; a grandson, Paul Wywadis; four granddaughters, Persephanie (Michael) Imler, Jessica Wywadis, Abigail Wywadis, and Megan Wywadis; two great-granddaughter, Kora Imler and Iris Sanchez; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Wywadis, and a sister, Janey (Lamar) Sweitzer.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 11 a.m. with Father Bernard Wamayose, AJ officiating in the C J Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mt. Carmel, C J Lucas IV, Supervisor. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service in the Mt. Carmel funeral home.
