Kulpmont - Theresa Kraynak, 85, of 1616 Chestnut Street, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in her residence.

Born in Larksville on June 1, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Frances (Stelmak) Pastula. She graduated from Larksville High School in 1949, she was a resident of Kulpmont for the past 60 years.

She was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. Theresa was employed as an office clerk in a doctor's office.

On February 19, 1955 in St. John's Church, Larksville, she married the late Raymond J. Kraynak who preceded her in death on February 19, 2001.

She was a strong and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who instilled in her family a sense of living each day with purpose. With her strength, intellect, warmth and wit, she exemplified never ending learning, hard work, staying true to your convictions and the notion that sharing memories full of happiness and laughter was the greatest way for a family to stay together.  She was the proud matriarch of a family she groomed to care for one another, care for their communities, and to be a source of strength.  She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Abraczinskas and her husband Attorney Peter Abraczinskas of Catawissa; four sons, Dr. Raymond Kraynak and his companion Nicole Belgio of Mount Carmel; David Kraynak and his wife Kathy of Marion Heights; Mark Kraynak of Kulpmont and Dr. Matthew Kraynak and his companion Susan Serovich of Kulpmont; Mary Ann Kraynak of Kulpmont; seven granddaughters, Dina Kraynak, Sarah DiTommaso and her husband Robert, Dr. Jennifer Abraczinskas and her husband David DiGiacomo, Dr. Joanna Kraynak-Appel and her husband Austin Appel, Bethany Harsche and her husband Ryan, Dr. Kelsey Kraynak and Samantha Yuschock; four grandsons, Raymond Kraynak and his wife Stephanie, David Kraynak, Michael Kraynak, Douglas Kraynak, one step-grandson, Luciano Belgio, one step-granddaughter, Malibu Belgio; three great grandsons, Alex DiTommaso, Jackson DiGiacomo and Leo DiGiacomo; one great granddaughter, Stella Appel; two brothers, Mitchell Pastula and Donald Pastula and one sister, Arlene Kraynak as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, Conrad, Edward, Bernard and Stanley Pastula and two sisters, Helen Brolet and Mary Friedman.

Theresa Kraynak, 85, of 1616 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont - Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 10:00 am in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott Street, Kulpmont with Father Andrew Stahmer, officiating.  Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg.  Viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 and Tuesday morning from 9:00 - 9:45 with transferal prayers at 9:15 in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 1053 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont, C.J. Lucas, Supervisor.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to C.J.
