Shamokin - Victoria M. Calabretta, 68, of 522 North Second Street, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Shamokin on March 23, 1949, she was the daughter of Marziale "Martin" and Maria "Mary" (Rovito) Calabretta.

Victoria was a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School, she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Alvernia College, a Master of Science in Counselor Education from Marywood University, a Master of Education in Principal Certification in Administration and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Temple University, and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from Temple University. Her dissertation received the official seal of Library of Congress of the United States of America. She was employed as a therapist in Pottsville.

She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Church, Coal Township.

Survivors include a great niece, whom she raised, Megan Fetterman of Kulpmont; two sisters, Theresa Ficca and Annette "Anita" Pensyl both of Coal Township; nieces and nephews include Charles Pensyl III and his wife, Patti of Shamokin; Martina (Pensyl) Boyle and her husband Roger or Mount Carmel; Gregory Snyder of Coal Township; Rose Marie (Ficca) Dormer and her husband Brian of Kulpmont; and Nicholas Ficca and his wife Katie of GA; great-nieces and great nephews, Laurie Ann (Pensyl) Krebs and her husband Daniel and their children Kyleigh and Kieran of Coal Township; Brandon Pensyl and his companion Kim Updegrave and their children Logan, Blake and Cheyanne of Valley View; Charles Pensyl IV and his son Austin of Harrisburg; Cameron M. Pensyl of Shamokin; Ivy (Dormer) Eckert and her husband Rick of Atlas; Andrew Dormer of Kulpmont and Gregory Snyder Jr. of Coal Township. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralphaelle Calabretta of Isca Sul Ionio, Italy; a niece Beth Ann Snyder of Coal Township and brother-in-law, Charles H. Pensyl Jr., of Coal Township.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Victoria M. Calabretta, 68, of 522 North Second Street, Shamokin - A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 with Transferal Prayers at 7:00  in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 1053 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont, C.J. Lucas, Supervisor. Anyone wishing to attend the Funeral Mass is asked to meet at Our Lady of Hope Church, 832 West Chestnut Street, Coal Township at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 where a Franciscan Friar will officiate.  Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg.    To send condolences to the family please visit www.cjlucasfuneralhome.com.
