Kulpmont – Vincent P. Shovlin Sr., 87, passed away on August 9, 2021 at his residence.

He was born in Danville on April 4, 1934, the son of Joseph and Anna (Horoschak) Shovlin.

Vincent was a 1951 graduate of Mount Carmel Catholic High School. He proudly served his county for 20 years in the US Navy and later worked as a machine operator at a plastic factory.

On September 25, 1971 he married the former Joan Hombosky in Washington, D.C. Together they shared 49 years of marriage.

Vincent was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels and the Knights of Columbus.

Vincent is survived by his wife, Joan Shovlin of Kulpmont; two daughters, Deborah Wanninkhof and husband, Rik of FL and Frances Ann Stutzman and husband, Kenneth of Mt. Carmel; a son, Vincent P. Shovlin Jr. and wife, Fumiko of OK; two grandsons, Vincent Shovlin and Mathias Shovlin; two granddaughters, Anna Shovlin and Suzette Wanninkhof; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Vincent was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Shovlin and Thomas Shovlin.

Vincent P. Shovlin Sr., 87, of Kulpmont – Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on August 18, 2021 in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont, PA with Father Andrew Stahmer, officiant.
