Mount Carmel - Virginia R. Richards, 69, of 322 South Market Street, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center.

Born in Locustdale on October 20, 1948, she was the daughter of Arden and Margaret (Zimmerman) Weikel. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1966.

On June 3, 1967 at Grace Evangelical Church in Locustdale, she married her husband, Kenneth L. Richards, who survives. She worked at Boyers Grocery Store and was a member of the Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Lori Palek and her husband Michael of Kulpmont, Tracy Siko and her husband Ronald of Mount Carmel, and Christina Richards and her significant other Dennis Zimnicki of Ashland; two grandsons, Dustin Siko and Devin Palek; three granddaughters, Hayley Palek, Zoe Siko, and McKenna Palek; a step-grandson, Logan Salada; a step-granddaughter, Adalyne Zimnicki; a brother, David Weikel and his wife Kathy of Locustdale; a sister-in-law, Donna Weikel; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she as preceded in death by a brother, Arden "Bud" Weikel.

Virginia Richards, 69, of 322 South Market Street, Mount Carmel - Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 11:00 am in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home, 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, Supervisor, with Reverend Rose Marquardt, officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Springs Cemetery, 134 Broad Street, Ashland.
