Locust Gap - William J. Redd, 74, of 18 South Sport Lane, formerly of Kulpmont passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at home after a two month illness.Born in Shamokin on July 18, 1943 he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (McCoy) Redd.

He was a Kulpmont High School graduate and was employed as a Union Laborer with Local 130.

On January 23, 1965 in Mount Carmel he married the late Irene Koronkiewicz, who preceded him in death on June 11, 2013.

He was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, VFW and American Legion both of Kulpmont, Shamokin Moose, and Locust Gap Fire Company.

William served with the US Army from January 31, 1962 until he was honorably discharged on January 30, 1964.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Redd and his wife Mary of Stevens, PA; and Richard Redd and his wife Kathleen with whom he resided in Locust Gap; two grandchildren, Tommy and Caroline Redd, two step grandchildren, Melissa Reed and Stephanie Jones, seven step great grandchildren, Skylar, Kody, Brayden, Nia, Kayleigh, Evan and Dominyk, two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Wislock and her husband William of New Jersey and Patricia Redd of Overlook as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by the love of his life Renee and his brother Joe Redd.

William J. Redd, 74, of 18 South Sport Lane, Locust Gap, formerly of Kulpmont - Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 1:30 in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 1053 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont with Father Andrew Stahmer, officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. Viewing will be held Saturday from 12:00 pm until the time of service in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 1053 Chestnut Street, Kulpmont, C.J.
