Mount Carmel – Zachary Merlo, 24, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 1, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born in Danville on October 14, 1997, the son of Michael Yuskoski and Amanda (Merlo) Mione.

Zachary was a member of the Catholic faith. As a child, he enjoyed playing baseball and football. He enjoyed drawing, fishing, four-wheeling, and spending time with his daughter, Xiomara.

Zachary is survived by his mother, Amanda Mione and husband, Nicholas of Mount Carmel; his father, Michael "Weezer" Yuskoski of Atlas; daughter, Xiomara Lee Merlo and her mother, Haley Torres "Baby Momma" of Shamokin; maternal grandparents, Michael and Bernadette Merlo of Den Mar Gardens; two brothers, Logan Yuskoski of Mount Carmel and Justin Schoppy of Shamokin; a sister, Emily Yuskoski of Mount Carmel; companion, Danielle Lapotsky of Kulpmont; aunt and god-mother, Alicia "Sissy" Coller and husband, Matt of Herndon; aunt, Liz Jones of Wilburton; three uncles, Mark Merlo and wife, Raynell of Atlas, Mickey Merlo and wife, Laurie of Pine Grove, and John Yuskoski (god-father) of Wilburton; cousins, Matty, Ian, and Sophia Coller; as well as many other cousins, great-aunts, great-uncles, and extended family. Zachary was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Linda Yuskoski; great-grandmothers; great-grandfathers; and a cousin, Dawson Merlo;

Zachary Merlo, 24, of Mount Carmel – A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 12 p.m. in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine Street, Mt. Carmel, C. J. Lucas IV, Supervisor. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held in the Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
